Lucerne is a city of fairy tales. The narrow streets of its medieval center are enchanting. Since 1333, the wooden Covered Bridge has been the city’s delightful landmark. Nestled on Lake Lucerne, Lucerne’s geographical position is exceptional and in summer, there’s nothing more pleasant than strolling along the lake. And why not take a boat trip to admire the unforgettable mountain skyline?
At the height of August, Lucerne devotes itself to art and music. Built in 1998 by Jean Nouvel, Lucerne’s Palace of Culture and Congress is an incomparable modern venue. Ideally located near the lake, the KKL (the contraction of the name in German) is the epicenter of the summer festival. The 2025 edition promises a line-up of such outstanding artists as Sir Simon Rattle, Lang Lang, Cecilia Bartoli and Anne-Sophie Mutter.
