The stage is set for a spectacular 2024 Wexford Festival Opera as Artistic Director Rosetta Cucchi unveils an exciting lineup centered on the theme of Theatre within Theatre. This year’s program promises to be one of the biggest in recent years, featuring three mainstage operas that promise to captivate audiences.
Leading the charge is Pietro Mascagni’s “Le maschere” (1901), followed by Charles Villiers Stanford’s “The Critic” (1916), and Gaetano Donizetti’s “Le convenienze ed inconvenienze teatrali” (1827). Each opera promises to transport audiences into a world where drama unfolds within the confines of the theater.
