Bayreuth: Summer Festival

26 July - 1 August

Bayreuth

26 July – 1 August, 2025

Bayreuth is more than a festival—it’s a myth. Founded by Richard Wagner in 1876 to present only his own works, the festival remains unique to this day. Wagner even designed the theatre himself, including its legendary hidden orchestra pit, creating the “mystical abyss” that gives Bayreuth its singular sound.

The 2025 edition promises a dazzling celebration ahead of the 150th anniversary. It features the final run of Valentin Schwarz’s bold Ring, a visionary Parsifal with AR-glasses conducted by Pablo Heras-Casado, and Thorleifur Örn Arnarsson’s striking Tristan and Isolde. A new production of The Master Singers of Nuremberg by musical theatre expert Matthias Davids is highly anticipated. As always, Bayreuth gathers the world’s finest artists—including Christian Thielemann, Simone Young, Elīna Garanča, Andreas Schager, and Piotr Beczala—for an operatic experience like no other.
